Possible that he just liked that I was already doing it and just decided to keep it going. I historically prefer to start with something like that, especially before squatting, as it lets me hit failure at a lighter overall load which feels safer for my back.

He may have had the same idea.

Also, no on the updated macros. He checked in with some follow-up questions for my check-in last night, so I’m expecting to hear back today.

Good deal, I am going to have to find a way to get or stay hungry with this new caloric load. I have never eaten this much regularly before. All my cycles were designed more in the recomp / get leaner, and bigger kind of focus. Not a full on bulk.

I just spoke to him, and we may just hold fast this week since I’m not 100% sure my initial weigh-in was accurate. I was using a scale at the gym and the disparity with the scale I just got last week for the house doesn’t make sense unless the first scale was inaccurate.

I just spoke to him, and we may just hold fast this week since I’m not 100% sure my initial weigh-in was accurate. I was using a scale at the gym and the disparity with the scale I just got last week for the house doesn’t make sense unless the first scale was inaccurate.

It won't hurt if you get a little leaner on the way to finding your maintenance, will just make the climb back up that much more fun and have you in a better starting point..

I had to combine some of my fats from earlier in the day yesterday since i didn't have any almond butter up here. It ended up being glorious! 10oz sweet potato, 2 tablespoons almond butter, and 2 tablespoons of honey over it with cinnamon for flavor. It made that part easy to get down. The 9oz of flank steak and 70g avocado was a little more work after though.

I agree w the post work consumption only. I’m not a functional user. If I want to watch Casino in one sitting that’s the way to go. The sweet potato drowned in almond butter and honey and cinnamon w a flank steak sounds DIVINE! Can’t do the avocado.

You should always try to consume the bulk of meats & veggies before starches if appetite is a concern, or if you just want the best hormonal response (insulin does not spike nearly as hard when protein/fat are consumed first).

That is actually why I ate them first. This was going to be my only post workout carb meal, so I wanted to get the carbs in first before I really slowed down the entry into my system with the meats since I wanted an insulin spike post workout. However, my appetite wasn't too bad off just yet. I will definitely take this into consideration once things start to really get hard. I also found the more water I pound with the meal the faster it seems to clear my gut. So slamming a 20oz Dasani water before I eat and finish with another one during / after the meal. it helps me get my water in, as well as seems to be improving digestion a bit. Before, I was limiting water around meals thinking it would make me feel too full but the opposite was the case.

I imagine I had a decent insulin spike followed by a decent several hour trickle of carbs with a meal containing that much fat. Just happy it was all pretty much monounsaturated so if it was going to be stored, it had to be converted to storable fat first. Definitely not something I will normally do.

Rough end of week. Missed the back day. Got shoulders in, but had to split it into two. Didn’t get 3 days of cardio in.

Slept like 3 hours last night and rolled out of bed for the gym this am. Been go-go-go all day. Need to fit in some meals now (and, ideally, grocery shop to re-up on some things).

Getting on a call with Pat this evening to discuss possibly adding in some clen since my current workload is making it difficult for him to ramp cardio up too much for the cut.

Hitting the gym for shoulders this evening and then back tomorrow. Just having the time of my life up here in the Big Apple.

Lower back has been giving me issues ever since the back day. Tried to do rack pulls instead of RDLs, but that was clearly a mistake on my part. Future sessions will have RDLs in that slot.

I got to be feeling too healthy and forgot what happens when I try to push a movement like that.

Sorry to hear, sucks when it’s feeling bad. It’s a very ambiguous thing, not knowing how long it will take to start feeling better.

Yeah, I have been nursing a situation in my lower back. I keep making 2 steps forward and one back, but luckily I feel like I am only 2 steps behind so I should catch up to current abilities without irritating it in the next session or two.

Looking like no chance tonight even if I was feeling 100%. Work picked up towards the end of the day and now I have to wait around for a call. Hopefully, a good night’s rest helps me feel good enough in the morning to get in the gym.

(Assuming I can log off early enough for a good nights rest, anyway)

Back feels better but still not great. No cardio today. Gotta get a quick shower and run to the office and get some documents sent out before 10 because I won’t have time to do them after.

Yeah, we’re living the dream up here. And got at least one deal trying to close before the holidays and one trying to close on Jan. 1. So that’s neat.

Might head out of the office soon, though. Probably will have to work later tonight, but hit a short lull and might try to take advantage of it.

And just like that, work situation changed and I had to cancel my flights to attend to a deal that is closing 2 days after Christmas lol.

Might still try to get down for a shorter trip or potentially NYE weekend. I’ll let you know what ends up being the plan.

Had a quick update call with Pat today. Gonna plan on getting some bloodwork over to him, but tentatively planning to run some Test in the new year.

Not starting with anything else for now. Gonna just see how we respond to pure vitamin T before adding other compounds in one at a time.

Time to get big and strong, boys! (And also to buy all new suits again )

Been tough getting in the gym with work the last few weeks. Hoping to slide out of the office early today (unless something comes up, I shouldn’t be too busy in the afternoon) to get a chest workout in.

Yep, just getting moving again & that’s a great thing. It’s probably a bit of everything, but the solution remains the same.
